MoS doesn't need Superman Returns to prop it up. MoS is the superior production. It's original, not a pastiche of the first two WB Superman films. MoS features a big screen Superman unlike any seen before him. So Metropolis got a Leatherface makeover. So what? It's a CBM. The disaster scenario exists in the very first Superman: The Movie, too. (Because he spun the Earth to reverse time to undo the damage made it better?)

Metropolis got smacked around in Superman II, as well. They weren't able to convey it as well back then because the special effects of the day were limited and completely practical, no CGI. Bluescreen only went so far.

Mark, it might be a task, but watch Superman Returns in its entirety so you can know what the rest of us know: it's a movie where Superman is upstaged by not only the villain, but Lois' boyfriend. Kate Bosworth is also the worst Lois ever. (And Superkid? Let's not go there.) Singer thought he was making art, when in turn he was manufacturing tedium. A few pretty scenes does not a great CBM make.

Says the guy who posts a link to Nic Cage saying his unproduced Superman film is the bomb.

The CBMs I am looking forward to the most are The New Mutants, Black Panther, and Wonder Woman 2.
Speaking of which, now that Star Wars: Episode 9 has been officially moved to December 20, 2019 (one week after the Wonder Woman sequel opens), I wonder where Warner Bros. Pictures will move it. There is no way that WB leaves WW2 in December knowing that one week later, its legs will be obliterated by the Star Wars Box Office Death Star. Maybe they could move it to February 7 2020 (that month did...um, wonders for Deadpool in 2016). There, Diana would have the box office field all to herself (and a most likely superb second-weekend drop due to the holiday double-whammy of Valentine's Day on Friday and President's Day that Monday). She would have five full weeks to make a killing before Silver & Black and the unnspecified Pixar animation open on March 13.

SW9 got moved again? Sheesh. Jerks.

Yes, Wonder Woman 2 will have to move. No franchise can deal with the beast.

It looks like people got tired of waiting for Marvel to get off its hands and make a BLACK WIDOW movie ('cause there's no way a female-led super hero movie would ever work, right?) , so they did their own. Behold RED SPARROW.

If Episode 8 wasn't going to be moved to May for the 40th anniversary, why should episode 9 be?

JJ needs more time to rewrite The Return of the Jedi script.

Like how D.C. rewrote Captain America for Wonder Woman?
