Another Bruce Lee "biopic," this one tailored to the millennial crowd.

Sorry if that sounds offensive, but the events depicted therein look more overblown than even those of Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story — a movie I admit I like a lot! But that movie is heavily skewed (it's based on Linda's book), and Dan Inosanto himself said it's "75% false." And I believe him.

Judging by the trailer, Birth obviously makes a pivotal moment in Bruce's life its centerpiece, and it's no doubt a flashy, extended showdown. The real event reportedly took very little time, as Bruce dispatched his opponent/naysayer quickly. (In the same fight in Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story, Bruce is shown getting savagely hurt and thrown out of commission for months, which is bull. He hurt himself lifting weights.)

I suspect a movie called Dragon: Day of the Hamstring wouldn't sell as many tickets.

^And you're right, but the crazy thing is Bruce's life was anything but boring. I think a faithful biopic would actually be a hit.

Agreed. But whose faithfulness are you going to accept as canon?

For the next round, let's go with Dan's and Jerry's, with input from Shannon.

I would say the one with Jason Lee would be the closest to cannon as one can get.

Or, alternatively, you could see it and enjoy it if it's done well, regardless of the fact checking. Fake news? Uproar. Fake movie? Um, ok, it's a movie. Something to see to get away from it all. A fantasy. Meer surmise. That's when I enjoy movies anyway.

Meersir mysir?

Meer surmise, sir.
