It's noteworthy that a backend deal can easily catapult an actor/actress to the top. Top of my head, Tom Hanks can command 20% of gross at his peak

so much for female longevity in film... most of the men are nearly twice as old as the females. They would make more in any industry if they had that much more time in career
NOPE! Longevity means nothing in Hollywood.

Not condoning it, but in the movie industry, it seems like females lose their star appeal once they start showing their age, which in turn affects their salaries. It's a sad fact, whereas it doesn't affect male actors as much (I.E. Robert Downey Jr., 52, Harrison Ford, 75, Johnny Depp, 54, Tom Hanks, 61, Denzel Washington, 62, Kevin Costner, 62, Bryan Cranston, 61, Samuel Jackson, 68)....and many more.

With regard to these particular lists from Forbes
the 10 men are between 45 and 55 years old with the only exception as Jackie Chan who is age 63;
the 10 women have six between 40 and 50 years old with four in their 20's.

Mea Culpa, I did not update my list to include 2016.

Counting the single tie in 1968, and multiple winners, 75 different women have won Best Actress. A total of 32 of them won for their first time under the age of 30.

Best Actor also had one tie, but fewer men have won multiple times. So 80 different men have won Best Actor, and only one was under the age of 30 (just barely).
