"Ladybird" got a perfect score of 100 from Rotten Tomatoes. I heard a clip of the movie. Ladybird is in the car with her mother who's screaming at her that she's no good, gonna wind up in jail and community college, and Ladybird jumps out' of her mom's moving car. Post if you go see it. I'm going.

Love those gritty flicks about real people. I have heard them referred to as "kitchen sink" films. Have you ever seen Fish Tank, Alee? Loved that movie

Default 100 Rotten Tomatoes

OMG, I would certainly hope jumping out of a moving car was not, is not, nor will ever be, real life for you mschrief. Oh my stars.
Well I looked up "Fish Tank" and it didn't look like a movie I would be interested in. I saw a movie about two decades ago called "Hideous Kinky" with Kate Winslet. She's looking for "the truth", trying to find herself, and drags her two daughters around with her from England to the Middle East.
7 I believe the story line is similar about neglecting your kids, who you should be caring for, just to satisfy a selfish yearning. I couldn't do better than "Hideous Kinky". Love Kate.

I saw Ladybird this past weekend. It's a good film, and one that makes you remember just how hard growing up was.

I saw it the weekend it opened. It was a nice movie but I wouldn't call it great. Surprised at the Rotten Tomatoes rating.

Loved it. Gave it a 9/10. Great performance by Saoirse Ronan ( Hanna (2011), The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014) ).

And Atonement (2007), The Lovely Bones (2009), and Brooklyn (2015). She had to work hard to mask her Irish accent for this role.
