The early reviews for the film have been great. The trailers look awesome. The last few Marvel films have been awesome and seem to be getting better every time, so no reason this shouldn’t be a great film.
So, will Black Panther be the first African-American (Superhero) centered film to break $1 Billion at the box office? IMO, I'm thinking not, but will be pretty close. Unfortunately, I don't see black super-heros being all that popular with anyone outside of western society. Especially in the Asian market, which takes up a huge chunk of the international movie gross.
Regardless, I hope it does well enough to garner a sequel and move from a C-list character to an A-list character. Chadwick is a pretty good actor and I pray he plays the character well along with the supporting cast.
Is the film not being shown in on the continent of Africa? Would the Disney Company leave that money on the table?
My hope for this movie is that it's not one of those 70's movies where white people are bad and blacks are good. I don't believe Marvel would do such a thing at least I hope not.
Really? With all of the Black Panther's white friends such as Captain America and the other white Avengers? But sorry, but that's just an unfounded fear, which in my opinion, isn't even worth mentioning.
I'm an old white guy, but I will go to see the film for 2 reasons -- 2 of the best younger actors around -- Chadwick Boseman and Michael B. Jordan. Both impress me both as actors and in interviews.
I agree. Both actors have an appeal to them. Especially, Chadwick Boseman.
Also, I recently found an article about Wesley Snipes wanting to do a Black Panther movie back in the 90s:
and even though Snipes was cool back in the day, I personally think that part of the appeal of 2018's The Black Panther is its lead star, Chadwick Boseman.

Snipes got a reputation for being a pain to work with. Too much ego. It's why you don't see much of him anymore. No one wants to work with him.
I don’t know if it will break $1 billion internationally, but I would love to see it do very well.
I already have my tickets bought for opening weekend and I’m sooooo ready! I’ve been anticipating this movie since the rumors actually solidified into confirmed casting and production. I’ve only been all the more pleased with each new promo and trailer releases. The production and costuming alone is stunning. I know the actors will be great. I’m familiar with the comics and can’t wait to watch the story unfold on the big screen!
