Not because I like it - and I do, very much - but, again, just because someone else's rating of something that is inherently subjective, such as the aesthetic appreciation from a piece of art (which a film is), exceeds yours, it does not mean they are overrating it.
It just means it appeals to them more than it does to you.
Were I like you, I'd be alleging that you're underrating it. I don't. Because the very idea is illogical.
Bladerunner only enjoys popularity among critics and a certain niche of fans anyway. When so few people like it, it can't be said to be "overrated" generally.

The replicants did not come to earth to vent a political grievance. They came to earth to get longer lifespans for themselves--they wanted to be repaired. A government bureaucrat couldn't do that--only their designer and creator could do that.
Yeah that makes sense. But why did Roy kill Tyrell then? After Tyrell told him he couldn't help him, Roy wants revenge of course then, but why didn't he get revenge on the people responsible, instead of killing Tyrell? Why didn't he just leave and go after those responsible for making the 4 year span law? He could have even gotten the information out of Tyrell on who that would be, so why didn't he?

Now you're getting back to expecting the emotional reactions to be expected of someone with 18 years or more of interpersonal experience. Revenge was never Roy's motive. At that moment, his emotion was anger and frustration.
Sorry, I am with OP. Outside of very good for the time effects, it's a so so movie. Beat up plot. Neurotic as anything else in Hollywood. Just a movie. Blown out of proportion by critics but if you were seriously to follow THOSE fellas, then sure...
Neither the sequel is a great movie. Dragged, not really interesting, another attempt to pretend that Harrison Ford can still run and move fast.
But. De gustibus non disputandum est and there is really nothing to discuss. Some folks like movie A. Some do not. That's IT. Why would you listen what others think about something YOU do not LIKE? It does not appeal to YOU - forget it and move on.
I didn't say I don't like it necessarily. I just think it's no more good, rather than great, like a lot of people. I thought a lot of people did think of this movie as great though, since it's hailed as such a classic.

Are you under 35? I bet you like music after 2000.
I am under, yes. I like some music after 200, some not.
But when it comes to movies set in a future like Blade Runner, I named some I liked before, such as Logan's Run, THX-1138, The Island, Minority Report, Metropolis, Dark City, etc.
So I do think a lot of those really good, just didn't think Blade Runner was better than any of them per say.
