2011:

'Playing Jesus wrecked my career': Passion of the Christ actor said Hollywood has shunned him

2017:

‘The Passion of the Christ’ star: Hollywood turned its back on me over faith

https://www.christianpost.com/news/j...sequel-182790/

Quote:
Shane Black, director of one of Gibson's most legendary films, "Lethal Weapon," confirmed that the talented 61 year old had in fact been "blacklisted" after "The Passion of the Christ" and his arrest.

"I think he's essentially been blacklisted in the industry," Black told Business Insider in 2015. "I think people don't want to work with him."
Certainly Gibson has made a nice comeback in the industry, and directed the incredible "Hacksaw Ridge," but to outright deny that some powers to be didn't like his decision to make "Passion of the Christ" and the fallout from it is false.

So, it ruined his (Caviezel) career (which is still going pretty good) but he's doing it again?
Hollywood would shun him simply for his faith imo regardless of his doing that movie.
Hollywood generally does not like someone that is a Christian or a conservative.
Well.. it's okay if you're a quiet one. Or don't really practice it.

I wanted the producers of the TV series Kings to get a shot at a second Bible story after they had David and Goliath through David's escape to the wilderness. Most likely this Gibson movie would come straight from the Book of Acts.

No doubt that Hollywood is certainly a very un-Christian atmosphere, but I wonder if Caviezel's career choices might be more self-inflicted. He has stated outright that he has turned down roles due to content he didn't approve of, and that's admirable. But it also limits the roles you'll be offered.

It hasn't seemed to hurt Neal McDonough though. https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/c...mcdonough-3604

I had high hopes for that show but was very disappointed. It was bad.

Neal takes a lot of different roles. He's been Dum Dum Dugan, he's been Damien Dahrk. He got to face off against Dwayne Johnson in Walking Tall.

Jim's gotten work steadily. He's not the only who doesn't automatically take a role with a dollar attached to it. Other actors are like that. Andy Garcia had (has) a rep for not doing anything that involved nudity, and reportedly even stormed out of auditions over it.

The media and Hollywood crowd cannot wait to criticize this movie- they derive so much pleasure from slamming Christianity.

Exactly what I was thinking.

I suspect that Mr. Caviezel is over-selling this a bit but I guess time will tell.
