Interesting if it will actually go to production.

Caviezel and Gibson were essentially blacklisted by Hollywood hypocrites for making the movie, which turned out to be a huge hit (highest grossing R-rated movie ever).

Jim Caviezel is very much on board with director Mel Gibson's plan to shoot a sequel to The Passion of the Christ.

Caviezel, 49, confirmed he will reprise his role as Jesus in the planned film about the resurrection of Christ. "There are things that I cannot say that will shock the audience," he says. "It's great. Stay tuned."

I don't recall Jim Caviezel being blacklisted. Really underrated actor. He went to a great role in a timely show, Person of Interest.

Oh? Christ will rise again?

I guess it makes a certain amount of sense. A large part of the original audience was probably people who don't give a damn - or agree with - Gibson's anti-Semitic remarks, so he hasn't alienated them.

Gibson simply got what he deserved. "Biggest film in history?" I thought that was supposed to be "Atlas Shrugged?" No wait, it was supposed to be the movie for the "Heaven's Gate" followers... no wait, it was supposed to be "The last Jedi." Hollyweird hype.

When I hear of Gibson trying to do Date's "Inferno" MAYBE I'll go watch. Otherwise, the volume of his private parts is larger than his intellectual capacity.

Well, I did enjoy the first film a lot even though Iím not religious, so I would most likely check out the sequel.

Gibson blacklisted? He was nominated for Best Director last year.

Say what you will about Gibson as a person, there's no denying the guy is a VERY good director.

But I don't know that Gibson was ever blacklisted over PASSION OF THE CHRIST. I think he was shamed due to his bad behavior.

Exactly. He was rightfully shamed for his drinking and racist and anti-Semitic comments, as well as alleged domestic abuse. It had nothing to do with the movie.

This should be good, but Ive always felt a movie based on the second coming of Jesus, in modern times of course, would be a huge success. It would naturally be CGI and effects heavy, but would probably make a good religious film as well as horror, sci-fi, thriller, genres too!
