Interesting, I wasn't even aware they were making any Cloverfield movies at the moment.
Cloverfield 3 was originally titled God Particle and is going to be a horror movie about something gone wrong on a space station. The title was changed to Untitled Cloverfield Movie for now, and the producers are still debating whether to release it in theaters or go with Netflix. Film is scheduled for release this April.
Cloverfield 4 is titled Overlord and will be set in WW2, and set for release this October.
The Cloverfield folks are at it again. While the fate of the second untitled Cloverfield sequel’s distribution is up in the air — will it remain with Paramount or go straight to Netflix? — the folks behind the viral marketing for the third film are still on top of their game.
The cryptic website that arrived to promote the Cloverfield movie formerly known as God Particle (now possibly known as Cloverfield Station) has changed, revealing potentially more information about the shady corporation that keeps popping up in the Cloverfield cinematic universe.
According to /Film, that movie is titled Overlord and it will be released on Oct. 26. The movie, produced by Abrams’ Bad Robot and directed by Julius Avery (Son of a Gun) will reportedly focus on American soldiers in World War II going after Nazis only to realize Hitler’s troops are using supernatural forces to strengthen their cause. Abrams is set to continue his relationship with Paramount Pictures, which is set to distribute, according to the rumors.
The second was a much better movie than the first. The first was fun the first time, but honestly, the "heroes" were so annoying that I was rooting for the monster.
I'd thought the name was simply a tip of the hat to the original "Cloverfield". Could be wrong though...
If you recall the last scene in 10 Cloverfield Ln was the lady driving towards a major city with a huge alien spacecraft in the sky, I dont think thats coincidence.
