Oh okay . I just watched both again and I still find them both to be the biggest mixed bags of the series, that I cannot decide on.

FYEO is much better for plot, but bland on villains, where as AVTAK has much better villains but a recycled and tired plot.

So I guess it depends on what's more important, villains or plot?

View to a Kill had the best opening theme. It's so 80s it hurts. But Moore was too old.

Moore's age would have worked, if they had just gotten him older Bond girls, and if they had him address his age, saying things like I'm getting too old for this, and how he can't be the same spy anymore.

For Your Eyes Only is my favorite of all the Bond movies. A View to a Kill was as campy as they come. No comparison.

IMHO, A View to a Kill, Octopussy, and Moonraker were Moore's worse movies. His first 3 were solid and For Your Eyes Only hit it out of the park.

Oh okay, I'm surprised you say his first three were solid, since I found Live and Let Die, and The Man with the Golden Gun to be even more cheesy than Moonraker and Octopussy, with things in them like the sumo wrestling fight and all.

Actually the comedy in the first couple had the audience in stitches. Very good fight scenes, and a great duel in the Man with the Golden Gun (absolutely cunning how he killed Christopher Lee). I just rolled my eyes on Moonraker and that nonsensical love scene with Jaws. The villains were nothing to write home about in Octopussy.

I honestly can't imagine anyone not putting For Your Eyes Only as one of the top Bond films of all times. Tons of great fight scenes, an incredible ski scene, the beauty of the Greek Islands, and I thought Carole Bouquet was stunning with those incredible eyes (obviously we have different taste in women).

I should have also mentioned in my last reply that Tanya Roberts was a terrible Bond girl. She didn't add anything and her screams were annoying. I think on pretty much all the lists you can find ranking the Bond girls, she it typically at the very bottom tier.

Yeah a lot of people find Robert's screams annoying but I mean if I were trapped in an elevator shaft or hanging from the Golden Gate bridge I would be screaming like that, too, so can I blame her really??

As for not being able to imagine For Your Eyes Only not being in a person's top 10 Bond films, what is so good about it exactly? I mean a lot of people say how much they loved the villain and girl, but what is it about them exactly that is so appealing, and what is it about Bouquet's performance that is good, since I found her to be very wooden in her acting. I also felt that even though Julian Glover is a good actor, there is nothing interesting about Kristatos as a villain much though.

I do agree that the action scenes were pretty good though and it did have nice scenery.
