Hugely popular when I was a teenager. But honestly, even as a teenager I hated this movie. Some of the cinematography was really good. A couple of the actors were good. But most of the acting isn't just sub-par, it's downright bad. But the killer is the story itself, which is beyond dumb. And this is coming from the guy who loved SILVER BULLET and FRIGHT NIGHT. THE LOST BOYS is trying so desperately hard to be edgy and cool. It's just posing.

So I tried watching THE LOST BOYS again the other day, thinking maybe I was just a petulant teenager who hated everything.

Nope. This movie still sucks.

So everyone out there who loves this movie (I know you're out there), please explain to me why. What am I not seeing?

What?! The Lost Boys is one of my favorite movies of all time! Whatís not to like about it? The soundtrack is awesome, the dialogue is funny, the plot is entertaining, the actors are attractive. Itís pure 80s nostalgia for me, but I guess if you donít like it then you just donít like it. Oh well. *shrug*

IT IS edgy and cool!!

Its one of those movies where I dont think they knew what they had created until later on, its got very attractive people, vampires riding dirt bikes, set in and around Santa Monica, CA...whats NOT to like!

I have to admit though, the 2nd one, that C. Feldman did, was AWFUL. It seems to me, he is not that great of an actor nowadays, it looks like he is acting too much imo.

I was a huge Corey Haim fan back in the late 80s, so I think that plays a part in why I’ve always liked the movie so much.

I just checked my Netflix account. I rented The Lost Boys in 2008 and rated it 2 stars, which means I really disliked it.

It must have been a forgettable movie for me because I don't remember much about it.

And finding out that Grandpa knew the whole time what was going on... - LOVE this movie. Maybe you have to have lived in the 1980's to understand the appeal. Keifer, the two Corys, good times!

Love that movie. It had a great cast, was funny, scary and well written. Loved the California setting also.

"Dont fight, its so much better when you don't fight...."
