I find it funny that movie critics HATE this movie, while audiences seem to LOVE it.

Which is the exact same thing that happened with Queen's music.

I took my 11 year old to see it over the weekend. We both loved it.

As is inevitable, it took a great deal of artistic license. But it was well acted and the concert scenes were fantastic.

Very true. I have a grudge against The Rolling Stone magazine as they used to bash Queen and some other great musicians for no reason.

Your posting reminded me that even though I have listened to A Kind of Magic album for many times I have never seen the Highlander movie except for some minor excerpts. I definitely should watch this movie one day. I do remember though the effect the introduction of Princes of the Universe had on me when I heard it for the first time at end of the movie or series. The intro was astounding.

Rolling Stone hasn't known anything about music since the early '70s. They're so desperate to be "cool" and "relevant" that they are little more than popular trend chasers.

True story - in the early 70's Freddie was jamming with big nosed Rod Stewart and at the time mop-headed Elton John. They were going to start a band, proposed title of band? -
Nose, Teeth, and Hair.

I plan to go see this sometime later. I am a casual fan of Queen, they had some awesome hits. Glad to see positive reviews. The trailers have been very enjoyable.

I saw it on Sunday, and it was great! I plan to go see it again, and Rami did a great job of portraying Freddie.

Actually, the teeth were scaled down to fit Malek's face. The original ones apparently were way too big and he couldn't even get them in, so they had to be redone.

Malek said that it some time to get used to them. He said it was hard to do anything with them in, but he got them a year before the movie was finished so he had lots of time to get used to them. After the movie was finished, he said that he felt naked without them.
