The MPAA claims that 49% of movie tickets are sold to the core audience (43 million) that goes to a movie at least once a month. Out of the 43 million, 11.1 million are in the ages 25-39.
Total audience in 2017 for at least one movie in USA and Canada is 263 million people.

The Spiderwick Chronicles (2008)
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003)
The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002)
