Since I found 123movies and gomovies, Ive watched so many good and bad movies, Im to the point of searching thru 1000s of older movies to find ones I may like,

It wasnt until i started reading thru movie descriptions did I realize how many older movies where some type of pedophilia is part of the subject. Its not just US movies either, there are movies from many other countries like this. Seems like most of these are from the 60s, 70s and 80s.

These are not porn movies either, they are dramas, comedies, etc, made my normal studios and production companies ( again, NOT porn related production companies), but a large part of the plot involves an adult that is in a relationship with a minor.

I will post some movie titles later on today to give some examples.

Captain Oveur: You ever been in a cockpit before?

Joey: No, sir, I've never been up in a plane before.

Captain Oveur: You ever seen a grown man naked? Do you like movies about gladiators?

At least AIRPLANE! was mocking it.

There is actually a sub-plot in THE GODFATHER that is only vaguely hinted at in the movie, but is pretty blatant in the novel. Remember the film producer who gets the horse head in his bed? In the novel, he was a pedophile --- and based on some real life film producers, which should come as a shock to no one.

Yes--the irony of Tom Hagan, riding in the limo with the young starlet, the sacrifice, showing he knew what the producer had in mind for that young girl and yet he knew (and we knew) that the producer would not be "dealt with" for anything that disgusting but just for thwarting Johnny Fontaine's desire for a movie role...

Puzo created a Don Corleone with standards--they just were skewed...
No selling dope--but prostitution, loan-sharking, illegal gambling...those were all ok...

Brooke Shield's first movie--she is pre-teen daughter of a madam in New Orleans brothel who is being auctioned off for her virginity factor..."Pretty Baby" -- that was taken as par for the course--that some patrons wanted "chickens"...

Well, let's see......

.......there's James Mason's flick Lolita. Then there's Charles Bronson's Lola. I don't recall how old "Thursday" was suppose to be in The Great Scout and Cathouse Thursday, but she certainly fit the part of being a very sweet young thing.

Back to Charles Bronson again with "Kinjite: Forbidden Subjects" only there, he wasn't the player. Then, there's "Chiller" from 1985 where "Stacey" was the target.

And, of course, there was always "The Crush".

And we must not forget The Bunny Caper.

Back when I was still living in Virginia I knew a lawyer...he was at the time a very famous lawyer due to a nationally known legal case he was involved in. We were talking one day about police stings such as you see on "To Catch A Predator" and how similar they were years earlier to marijuana stings. And he made a comment on the difference between when a man (or woman) who thinks about doing something and actually does something. And he said, "If every man who ever saw a girl under the age of 18 and thought about sex with her was in jail, half the male population of the United States would be in prison.

The one film that just turned me off that related to that topic was "American Beauty" with Kevin Spacey. I used to like Spacey a lot, so I went to the film without even knowing what it was about. Yuck. I was embarrassed to have even gone to the movie.

Well, if it makes you feel any better: Spacey is WAY more creepy in real life.

I liked Spacey until the revelation that he was a pervert.

He's a great actor. But I first heard of his behavior in the late '90s, and I am by no means a Hollywood insider. Everyone in Hollywood acting "shocked" at the allegations is total BS. Everyone knew, and no one cared. Because Hollywood is filled with people like Spacey and worse.

Is portraying pedophilia in older movies really a bad thing though?

A lot of modern movies do away with it, which I feel can be a cop out sometimes. For example, in the 2010 Robin Hood movie, King John's wife looks about the same age as him, an adult age more so. Where as in real history, his wife was like around 11-13, and in the 1976 Robin and Marian movie, the actually have his wife be that age, and he is much older.

And no one had a problem with it I don't think. But if audiences today had a Robin Hood villain who was an adult age with a 12 year old wife, they would scream about it, cause modern audiences are too sensitive to deal with the subject matter it seems.

I'm a history (and Robin Hood) nut and I like historical accuracy in film; I think there are ways to portray something like that without it seeming creepy when it's historically accurate as in your example.

Pretty Baby, Leon The Professional are the two that come to mind for me that made me a tad nauseous and were so blatantly meant to titillate pedo freaks I wonder how they got away with it. Another with Dakota Fanning, I forget the title as I only watched a bit of it and was so disgusted I stopped watching.

I think one can discern between films that sexualize children for the purpose of sexualizing them versus ones that don't have that intent.
