Pleasantly surprised to see that these kids look like actual kids and not the painted super models we usually see in teen movies and TV.

A Very Good Production, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, and Red 56 have begun filming on “Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase,” an all-new direct-to-video feature starring “IT” actress Sophia Lillis as the iconic young female sleuth character Nancy Drew.

The film is being shot in Georgia and focuses on Nancy Drew (Lillis), a smart high schooler with a penchant for keen observation and deduction, who stumbles upon the haunting of a local home.

A bit of an outsider struggling to fit into her new surroundings, Nancy and her pals set out to solve the mystery, make new friends, and establish their place in the community.

Katt Shea (“Poison Ivy”) helms the film from a script by Nina Fiore and John Herrera (“The Handmaid’s Tale”). DeGeneres, Jeff Kleeman and Chip Diggins are producing.

I think I read every Nancy Drew book out there back when I was in middle school. My teacher actually told me to "broaden my horizons".
