They run the gamut from flight of fantasy to more docu-drama
And remember just having historically accurate clothing or set decoration doesn't make the characters' actions/ beliefs true to their era.
It’s a perspective of the civil war era from a woman growing up in the early 20th century, one of the most racist times. I love the writing and storytelling, but I also get disturbed by Mitchell’s defense of the KKK and slavery. She was a product of her time for sure.
