My favorite genre is sci-fi/fantasy. And I think that reason why I like this genre so much is because it explores the imagination so much and it takes you so far away from your current settings into worlds so far away.

My least favorite genre is horror. Although, I used to enjoy some of the horror flicks from the Golden Age of Hollywood such as Frankenstein, The Mummy, The Wolf Man, and Psycho. But the more modern ones and the current ones are too graphic and gratuitous for me. And just the thought of the upcoming The First Purge makes me cringe.

Also, as far as musicals go, I adore some of the older ones such as Mary Poppins, The Sound of Music, and The King and I.

Favourite: Science-fiction, fantasy, adventure, but I don't like many low budget films of those genres.

Least favorite: Horror, thrillers, slap-stick comedies (with a few exceptions, mostly Chevy Chase, Martin Short, Steve Martin, and Dan Akryod)

To wherever repped me saying my favorites such as science fiction, fantasy, and adventure are thrillers. They are not. I don’t like suspenseful movies.

I think thrillers/horror is my favorite. I like comedies but they rarely make a good one now adays, not even 1 good comedy per year usually.

War or Western is my least favorite. I hate musicals too.

Hmmmm....good question. I have enjoyed many movies from a broad spectrum with the probable exception of horror/slasher movies as I recall. Though some vampire type movies have been enjoyable. I don't like drama that involves arguing or bedroom scenes.

Many of my favorites have been action films but many least favorite have also been poorly made action movies.

Trying to figure out the common thread that runs through the most enjoyable? Moving at a solid pace - not too slow, not too fast. Extreme attention to detail helps a tremendous amount. I suspect that attention to detail helps set Spielberg and Cameron apart from most.
