100% critic approval. 94% audience approval. No big name actors. Written and directed by the same people. Probably have passion for the subject.

Ben Foster is in it. I want to see this. Something about the trailer and the daughter / father relationship.

Starts here next Friday, really looking forward to this. Directed by Debra Granik who also directed the excellent Winter's Bone (2010), which was breakout role for Jennifer Lawrence.

The location reminds me of the first Rambo
Foster is usually very good at playing damaged characters

People just want to be entertained? I think that may be true of ~90-95% of the public. Looks like it came in ~#22 for its opening week-end.

I really wanted to see it when in Denver but just had way too much to do. Colorado wildfires had me driving all over in order to skirt the road closures.....for one thing.

Is anybody surprised that the reception numbers have been low? 799 viewers bothered to leave a review at rotten tomatoes. Bit discouraging....to me anyway. The subject matter is a pet of mine.

At least people are really liking it - or at least giving it great reviews. Sadly, that doesn't provide the needed incentive for similar movies. We all have to pay our bills...

I like Foster as well, he's always been good in those brooding type of roles. Worth a watch.

Looks great but isn't showing within 100 miles of me. I'll eagerly await the DVD.
