In the midst of an apocalypse, a man struggles to reach his pregnant wife, who is thousands of miles away.

I was hoping this one would turn out to be a good watch, but it wasn't. I do enjoy Forrest Whitaker and thought he was good in this role. The movie itself was just boring and didn't really have that interesting of a story. Too bad.

Well, what's new when it comes to Netflix originals?

Although, even though this was a movie, I'm not sure it this belongs in the TV forum or not.

Yeah I wasn’t sure where I should put it. I chose here since it is a movie and not a tv show.

Just watched it. How it Ends might seem like a disaster movie on its surface, but it's really a movie about irony.

Spoiler
There is no ending and there are no answers. It just fades out during an intense moment.

Wasn't a fan.

Just watched this. Pretty bad. Lots of questions, no answers. I thought the birds flying around was cool.

I thought it was great. Pretty grim subject, hard to make that enjoyable. Seen it twice now.

I enjoyed it. The ending kind of fell off for me, but not enough to ruin the movie. I didn't find it boring in the least; thought it was very well done.

irony (n.)

"figure of speech in which the intended meaning is the opposite of the literal meaning" (usually covert sarcasm under a serious or friendly pretense), c. 1500, from Latin ironia, from Greek eironeia "dissimulation, assumed ignorance" .

Used in Greek of affected ignorance, especially that of Socrates, as a method of exposing an antagonist's ignorance by pretending to modestly seek information or instruction from him.

Thus sometimes in English in the sense "simulated ignorance."
I don't think that is the correct word. The ignorance in the movie is not simulated, it is genuine.

My review is "ironic". How it Ends has a beginning a middle and an end like most movies. Unfortunately, the transition is difficult to distinguish.

I kept trying to figure out what 'the event' was that caused all this...

Spoiler
When i saw the ending, I thought it was a Yellowstone mega eruption, but that really doesnt explain some earlier events, like those weird storms.
