When my husband and I are in FL--6 mo of the year--we go primarily to AMC theater in mall near us
Comfortable seats, clean, decent popcorn but prices are high--
This area has many seniors who go to the movies often and prices are high--over $7 for senior ticket and more at night--I know that isn't as much as some cities but higher than
At home where we go to Cinemark at home which is clean and good popcorn but about $4 a ticket--

We go to at least movie a week--sometimes two--the problem is sometimes there are not 3 moves we would go to in a week and we would have to have two passes--one for each...

Not going to try it because AMC is owned by China

I am not going to CHINA to watch movies--
They employ plenty of Americans
They pay taxes, locally and federally, in the US
They allow American production companies funded by American money as well as many other foreign companies to use many behind the scene people

There are better things to boycott than AMC

Excellent points ^^^ And they aren't owned by China. They are partly owned by a Chinese company.

I'll say. Tickets here are $14.69 for a regular, $13.19 for seniors. The pass is $19.95 per month here.

Definitely. I'd have trouble with 3 per month. What's out there is just not good enough to warrant going out to a theater that frequently.

It is up to three per week at $21ish (after tax) per month. If you see two movies in a month, you likely paid for it. I did with three since it was $7 and change for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom a week ago, $10 and change for The First Purge last night and $15 for Ant-Man and the Wasp in IMAX 3-D for Friday. Your fourth movie and beyond are just gravy.

We just like the movies
I think it is a very different experience viewing in a cinema vs on screen at home
I have been going to the movies since I was 4 or 5 yrs old--by myself even at early age because my mom's best friend ran a theater in Atlanta and my grandfather ran a taxi company
I love going to the movies
The issue is that when we are in TX--half the year- the AMC is not that convenient so we go there very infrequently
In Fl the AMC is the closest

I guess I will have to read up on it--we are here until middle of August so maybe do it for 2 mo

Things to consider:

1. You can do advanced reservations.
2. IMAX and 3D are included.
3. Free upgrades on popcorn and drinks.
4. You get a 10% rebate on concession purchases.
5. Could be good if you want to do repeat viewings of the same movie.

I seriously wonder how any adult, could enjoy the majority of today's movies. Especially seniors. The quality and storylines of today's films are lacking, and that's being polite.

So a AMC subscription. good Luck with that

Movie fans like myself. My brother and sister-in-law and even my current SO are closer to Harkins, an Arizona chain. I do like them but the nearest theater is maybe five minutes from where I work...
