not sure if it's World War I or II era, the story is about a guy who saved an ally pilot, but was killed by the persuing German submarine captain, so the guy became angry and vengeful, he fixed the damaged plane and eventually sunk the submarine, i vaguely remember by the time the submarine was sunk, the war was over, but the guy didn't care, he was just so pissed off by the fact that the pilot he saved was shot dead, i also vaguely remember the main charactor was played by a rather well known English actor

sorry about all that babbling, hopefully that's clue enuff

well, since the move has an ally pilot, it must be during World War II then :-)
