Saw this last night and to be honest it wasnt scary at all, in fact the Conjuring 2 was MUCH better.

The main problem I saw with it, its way too dark when most of the action is going on, so its tough to really see whats going on, and I have 20/20 vision!

I don't like the title so far. Sounds like the filmmakers are relying on the nuns are scary cliche, but that's just the title impression.

Big box office winner this weekend though, the Conjuring franchise is always mint for the studio.

This movie was quite disappointing. Here you have an awesome character in Valak and they hardly even gave it any screen time. The movie WAS filmed too dark. The story was boring and the acting wasn’t all that great. The Nun was scarier in the conjuring 2.

It wasn't as good/scary as I'd hoped. Kind of cheesy w/ the main demon nun character.

Yes I agree. Plus the nun in Conjuring 2 was just a manifestation that the demon Valak had chosen, it didnt originate with an actual human nun though, it was just a form Valak chose to attack her faith. He could have manifested in any form, a unicorn, a monkey, etc!

This new movie depicts the demonic nun as once being a human nun.

I own an older horror film called the Nun that's not related to this, so the film caught my eye. I heard this film relies on a lot of jump scares, bathroom mirror reflection scares, and the classic open the fridge door, close it and the creep/ghost/demon is right there scares. Probably a good popcorn flick, cheap thrills and overpriced watered down soda night out.

Default Not scary

I didn't find the nun scary though. It is just full of jump scares. And, they used the famous character "Valak" as a marketing strategy.

^ hard to read, but that's a minus 1 out of 10.

I did not know Taissa Farmiga is Vera Farmiga's sister!

Spoiler
the only reason it did not get a minus 5 was Taissa Farmiga - and the Vera Farmiga & Patrick Wilson's cameo...
