A lot of room to disagree, but at least it's a starting point!

Wow, no one here has any interest in what films were considered the best?

I haven't actually seen most of them, because in typical NYTimes fashion, most of those are movies critics love, not audiences.

SPIRITED AWAY is indeed a great movie. But one of the best of the 21st century? I dunno. It isn't even close to Miyazaki's best movie.

I’ve seen fifteen of these. There are definitely some excellent choices here, most notably There Will Be Blood, Yi Yi, L’Enfant (although all the Dardenne Brothers films are pretty great), Boyhood and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I thought 40-Year Old Virgin was entertaining, but it would definitely not make my top 25. Instead, I would have included The Lives Of Others (2006), Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck.

This is now outdated. The Darkest Hour should be #1 now. And Dunkirk should be somewhere on there too.
