Raoul Ruiz
In Ruiz's Genealogies Of A Crime he uses the image of the gameboard of Go to punctuate the scenes and illustrate plot developments. This same device is used in the Darren Aronofsky film Pi . These films were released in the same general timeframe. Is this a coincidence, or was there some sort of dialog between the two gentelmen?
I've also been distressed that the story from Riuz's Shattered Image appears to have been appropriated by Alain Berliner for his film Passion of Mind which was released two years after.
