That being said, this smacks of "Hey, let's see if we can milk the fans for a few million more dollars." After all, the strength of the show was based on its episode-by-episode development of character, which allowed for more complexity in plot line. You were following four different characters around as they tried to find themselves. The show relied on loose ends at the close of every show and every season to keep you hooked.

However, a 90- to 110-minute long movie isn't going to allow that. The narrative format will have to be totally different to make things work for the big screen, so you're going to basically wind up with an uber-expensive episode that centers around Carrie Bradshaw, while the others play a reprise role of their small screen characters. Further, everything will have to be tied up with a nice neat bow.

So, no, kids. You're not going to be very satisfied with the finished product.
Ok Derek downer....

Hey I still think it will be good.

To each it's own cpg!

Ever since I started this thread, I have been waiting, and planning a girls night out. Now that its almost here, lemme tell y'all about what we are doing.
We are going out to dinner beforehand, needless to say we all have our outfits and shoes planned. We hired a limo, we will all have a small flask of cosmos in our purses, and are going out to what passes for a jazz bar here afterwards, cant wait!
Is anyone else planning anything special? Please share!

I have been rewatching every episode too, am excited to go see it, but sadly am not sure it will live up to the hype. I agree that the format of the show isn't going to translate into a 2 hour film. BUT, I think the fashion will be fabulous.

Yeah I know it will all focus on Carrie but I'm hoping that we still get enough moments from the others to make it great. Miranda has always been my fave to watch but I'm betting she'll get the least camera time.

Default Fav character and why?

Miranda eh? Good time to tell which character is a fav and why? So...why Miranda?

I would pick Samantha-ballsy chick. Knows what she wants, says it and goes for it.

Let's skip the plot, and make a documentary about Sarah Jessica Parker putting on ten pounds of makeup in a futile attempt to look 30 again.
