Damn.. there are so many to choose from;
Appocalypse Now - Watch it at least once a month. Like that The Clash's song "Chalie Don't Surf" was inspired by this movie. Could understand the jaded Brando character.
300 - I loved The 300 Spartans and the story as a child but the new version (maybe not the most accurate telling) apealed to me visualy.
Black Hawk Down - Made me want to join the service.
Lawrence of Arabia - Another jaded figure.
Patton - George C. Scott and that big azz flag still stick in my mind.
Saving Private Ryan - Should be shown every Veterans' Day for all eternity.
Okay, we now have a "top 5 westerns" thread.
This got me to thinking, we should also have a thread about war movies.
What are your favorite war movies?
I think Saving Private Ryan is about the best one to have come out recently. One of my favorite older war movies is Midway. Both of these were about WWII. How about movies about other wars? There are lots of others out there that are great, too. What do you all think?
Saving Private Ryan is the best, but rather hard to watch....
