This didn't play in the little town we lived in when it was released, but it finally worked its way up to the top of my netflix queue. Great movie, lots of great young actors in it and of course Laurence Fishburne and the lovely Angela Basset turn in their usual stellar performances.

I recommend it for both kids and adults.

I liked it and the cast was really good. My favorite part is when the kid is stalling so she can make it back in time

I know exactly what you mean Natalay! In fact my wife wasn't very interested (was reading a good book and looking up to follow the story) until that point. Yesterday when telling our neighbor about it she specifically mentioned that part.

I imdb'd keke palmer and how she got her start. Holding her own against Queen Latifah and Cedric The Entertainer really got her noticed. She has 5 or 6 projects either in production or post-production.

One of the parts that got to me was the line about the condition of the school, its equipment and books, or lack thereof. It is a crime that in the USA 50+ years after Brown that such conditions still exist.

I hope "change" is really coming.
