this is a tread for movies that you think are unjustly criticised. for example - The Cable Guy. a great movie? not really. but compared to most comedies, it's not bad at all. i dunno, just seems like everyone jumped on a bandwagon against this movie. as far as Jim Carey movies go, i've seen alot worse - like Liar Liar and The Mask. both terrible.
another one that really disgusts me is people who speak out against the Joe Carnahan movie, Smokin' Aces. someone in another thread said they didnt like the movie because "they needed more than constant shootings and explosions to entertain them". well i guarantee that that person saw the trailer (which made the movie seem like it was going to be just as they described it), then sat down for the movie with pre-concieved notions of what it was going to be - and didnt pay any attention at all to the movie, and therefore, left with the same pre-conceived notions.
watch the movie! it is well made and entertaining. i am very critical of movies and had very low expectations for this one and was very pleasantly suprised.

I usually skip trailers because they ruin the movie by telling too much about the plot. I never listen to movie critics anywayz, I just follow my gut feeling.
I felt like that about the Fantastic Four movies and, gasp, 'The Postman'. Sometime I just want to be entertained, and these fit the bill.
i saw the hulk and thought that it was pretty terrible. i dont know about Fantastic Four. i didnt see it. i assumed it would be pretty terrible. The Postman was not terrible, and neither was Water World. Kevin Costner has gotten a lot of undue critisism.

Well i disagree with your saying that most of the Carey films are terrible. I have watched movies like Mask and Liar Liar, but i think it was a nice comedy. he did well in those movies and in most of the movies.

Ang Lee's HULK. Not a great movie. Definitely had some flaws. But it doesn't deserve the trashing it often gets.
I totally agree. I like mainstream comics as well as art-films. I guess that's more rare than some Hollywood producers thought.
I always felt that the movie was trashed because it didn't satisy the hunger for mindless violence and spectacle that comic-book movie audiences demand.
