As a kid growing up in (scary) Berkeley, I used to sneak into movies that were playing at the Rialto (they also played Retrospectives-Groucho, etc.). One day, I snuck in to see a double feature. The two movies? Carrie and Halloween! I, too, had nightmares for many nights after!

The Tingler i was maybe 7 or 8 (good argument for movie ratings) and went with my 9 year old brother. he said he was going to the bathroom and never came back. i watched the whole scarey movie myself and had to walk home in the dark alone. had nightmares for a week. he has never seen the movie and i think i'm going to online and get it for him for Christmas

A couple come to mind from the early 70's (Both in 1974) when i was an Itty Bitty 6/3 or 3/3.

Fiirst is ''Grave of the Vampire'' about a Gruesome Vampire who gets a girl pregnant in the Graveyard and then the mother feeds it's baby blood in an baby bottle while it's a baby and then it grows up and at the end of the movie it kills it's evil gruesome father.

Second movie is ''It's Alive'' about the baby born deformed with Claws and Fangs and it killed everyone on the Hospital delivery room and anyone in the movie it comes in contact with except the Mother, Father and it's Siblings. There were 3 movies of it.

It must have been knowing that Captain Kangaroo was on tv back then .

Edward Scissorhands. I dont know why. But when I watched it for the first time as a kid, something about it just creeped me out. I think I felt very sorry for him, and maybe that feeling was what gave me the creeps.
