I saw this survey a couple of times on another site, really liked it, and decided it would be fun to post it here. It asks which of the 80 Academy Award winners for Best Picture that you've seen. I got 52 the first time I saw it and have watched 6 more since. All the ones that Blockbuster has available are in my queu so that should get me close -- Wings and The Broadway Melody will probably be the hardest finds for me.

I only got 31. This told me two things:

My movie knowledge prior to the 1970s is sorely lacking.

Oscar is blind. Most decades had way better movies that didn't make their list.

Most years had way better movies that didn't make the list. I saw "Tom Jones" a couple of weeks ago and not only am I wondering why it was nominated and won, I'm wondering why it was made. And I finally watched "How Green Was My Valley" and it was a travesty that "Citizen Kane" didn't win that year. It was a sweet movie, but it was no Citizen Kane.

Agreed. When it comes to the Academy Awards, I tend to agree with George C. Scott.
