Sounds like "Buried Alive".
EDIT: Scratch that, been too long. Is it this one? Never seen it myself, but according to YouTube there is a scene in an episode identical to that which you describe.

That movie with Kevin Bacon, "Stir of Echos"? Stir of Echoes (1999) Excellent movie! One of the better of the murder mystery genre came out around the same time as M. Nights The Sixth Sense and got lost that year...but it's actually just as good as if not better!

Was it with Vincent Price... older movie? It could be Tales of Terror (1962) it's a trilogy, the story The Black Cat has that. It could also be Two Evil Eyes Due occhi diabolici (1990) Where Harvey Keitel plays in The Black Cat (same story). It's based on the Poe story Cask of Amontillado.

Yes, it definitely sounds like the Poe story..."For the love of God, Montressor!"...

I believe there's a scene like that in The Amityville Horror (the first one from the 70's) although I'm not 100% positive....
