Ha! Yeah - that's one that I wouldn't want to sit through with my parents.
My wife and I giggled all the way through, though. I can't wait to find out what movies my (one day) kids will "freak me out" with.

I was probably behind your dad. Who knew? The trailers didn't give ANY indication.

My Dad took me to the theatre when I was 12 years old to see The Shining. He also took me to a midnight double feature of Up In Smoke (can't remember the other movie) when I was 16 ... my mom about killed my Dad when he dared to question her telling me to get out of the room during Carnal Knowledge ...
I have a cool Dad.

LOL
I had seen TA in the theater, but when the DVD came out, I rented it because of the extras, which included the extended puppet sex scene. My own censorious son would not permit me to see this; he grabbed the remote and clicked away from it.
Back in 1968, my mom took me and my brothers to the drive-in to see Wild in the Streets.
This was the psychedelic "don't trust anyone over 30" flick.
Mom's response to that movie gave us a catch phrase we still use to this day:
[worried maternal voice]
"I found that rather disturbing..."
[/worried maternal voice]

There was nothing funny about that scene. Your mom sounds like a good woman [even if she is somewhat militant...].
p.s. My folks didn't like American Beauty...go figure...

I saw Pulp on opening night. When Marvin got his head blown off by Vic, the entire packed theatre went silent ... except me who was howling laughing ... then the theatre erupted in laughter.

Lucky for you Domergurl, Katimae's mom wasn't there to make you leave...
