Oscar Buzz 2008!!!
I thought I'd start this thread since we are heading to that part of the season. Any one can chime in and praise a performance or film you think will make it in the race for Oscar. Let the guessing begin!!!!!!
Here's my "For Your Consideration" entry. Well at least one of them!!!!

Synecdoche, New York
It's pronounced (si-nek-duh-kee). Meaning: a figure of speech in which a part is used for a whole or the whole of a part.
For those who appreciate the works of Charlie Kaufman, writer and director, and an ensemble cast that is above and beyond, you can't help but anxiously wait for this movie to come out. I know I can't! He was the master mind of such movies like Being John Malkovich, Adaptation, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, and Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind.

The Frozen River
With all the political talk of immigration, border patrol and smuggling, this movie,The Frozen River, confronts the issue head on. It's more of the acting of the two leading females that intrigued me more. Both coming from two different worlds (with their individual passions and conflicts), their lives spiral out of control. Very worth seeing!!!!

For those who remember Mickey Rourke, get READY!!!!! From what I've been hearing around La-La Land is that everyone who has previewed this film is clamouring for his Oscar Nomination!!!! YEP.... Mickey Rourke and Oscar Nomination under the same breath!!!! I was taken-a-back to this news back in Apr. 08.
It will be released in Dec 2008 nationwide! I hope we get to see it before the nationwide release.
