Did you see Uwe Boll films ? ( Rampage, Stoic, Heart of America, Blackwoods)
It's disturbing only because it is mega violent an at least one (Stoic) is based on actual facts.

Movies do not disturb me. You know why? Well, you see, because movies are not real, so...this renders their power to disturb completely null and void.

Yet they are still based on human imagination or in some cases, real life events.

I have a strong stomach for gore and violence so it's pretty hard for movies to disturb me. I watch trailers and read reviews and tend to avoid movies that might mess with my emotional equilibrium (Sophie's Choice comes to mind).

But I was profoundly disturbed - and moved - by The Stoning of Soraya M.
It wasn't until I saw this movie that I grasped - just barely - the horror and brutality of the act of stoning.
Brilliant film.

On the flip side, a movie that disturbed me in a not-so-good way was What Dreams May Come. It was a huge and unnecessary slap-in-the-face especially to persons who have lost a loved one to suicide. It's one of only a handful of movies I was tempted to walk out on, and in hindsight, I wish I had. Besides the 'disturbing' factor, it was a ****-poor movie.

I recently watched that movie. It was pretty disturbing.

It pissed me off more than anything, but I won't comment about that stuff cuz religion and politics is off limits in here.
