...and are there others, or am I the only one who thought it was only good but not great? Heath Ledger's performance was excellent, but the rest of the film (with the exception of a few scenes) was forgettable.
The first five minutes of the film, I was very excited and was like, "okay. I'm in for a real treat." But my interest dwindled everytime the joker wasn't on screen.
Does anyone share my opinion?
and does Christopher Nolan have something against black people?

Even the Ernest movies are better than Superman Returns.
The movie was great. I agree that whenever you wait to see something that is extremely popular and hyped, it will never meet your expectations. Just like when there is a movie that everyone pans, it's never as bad as you think it's going to be. And, like I said in another thread, this movie NEEDS to be seen on the big screen. It looks completely different on a tv screen than it did at the theaters.
As far as Nolan having something against black people? Why do you say that? Look at the context of the film: Gamble was a black crime lord which means that he probably had control of black neighborhoods which meant that it would be black people who answered to him and who would come to him to claim the reward since word would spread faster in his domain of his offer. He just happened to be the one who challenged the Joker. Would you be saying that Nolan has something against Russians if it was the Russian guy who challenged the Joker and, therefore, all the guys he dealt with were Russian? Also, in the ferrie scene, who was it who did the right thing? A black guy.
