Yes, another Friday the 13th...
...is coming in Feb. with the story-line going back to it's roots. I loved the first three but as time went on each got worst than the one before. I think I'll go for the full cinematic experience but fearing the worst?

Man, with My Bloody Valentine, Hellraiser, and Friday the 13th coming out pretty soon, I too hope for the best, but expect the worst. A good update to all of them could relaunch the genre, hopefully for the better.

Rent or buy the original mid-70's "BLACK CHRISTMAS" & you'll see this genre at it's absolute best. It was John Carpenters inspiration for Halloween.

Jason X was hilariously bad. I saw it just based on the sheer audacity of the concept. They could always do something ala Superman Returns and do a "sequel" that picks up after 2 or 3 and ignores all the others.
I used to love watching the cheesy direct to video horror movies of the 80s. I don't enjoy the new ones as much though.

I was a huge fan of 1-3 but they couldn't hold my interest after that. I am excited about the new one going back to the roots, I don't fear the movie will be all that bad, I fear I'll be too old for the suspense and be scared! I used to love all the scary movies and now they just plain scare me!

I can't wait for Feb. 13 2009. I liked 1-4. Jason takes manhattan and Jason x were real bad. I thought Freddy vs. Jason was pretty good. This one looks like it's gonna be similar to the early ones.

As for Last House on the Left, if done well, with some MAJOR updates, could have potential. However, from what I've read, I'm not impressed at all. Time will tell....
