I have fuzzy memories so it could be either Bambi, Cinderella, or Snow White. I didn't actually watch Mary Poppins until I got it for my son (his first Disney movie was The Lion King, and he played it to death). My daughter's first Disney movie was Finding Nemo - but her current faves are Bambi, Jungle Book, and Lady & the Tramp.
pretty sure it was "Lady and the Tramp" for me. for some reason, I never watched Snow White in its entirety until I was in high school (late 90's), probably b/c there weren't enough talking animals in it
I think it was either Snow White or the Little Mermaid. I never really liked them, and there still aren't very many Disney movies I like (my favorite is Beauty and the Beast though).
I remember as a kid I used to listen to Bambi on cassette all the time, but it wasn't until recently that I actually saw the movie "in full". The new version of the movie I have on DVD seems to have cut most of the scene where his mother dies. It made me very angry. There was another scene I think they cut too.
First I remember as a kid is Cinderella in the theater in like 1976, or 1977. Then, it was probably "The Rescuers" or "Sleeping Beauty"...also loved "The Fox and the Hound."
I'm sure this will really date me - but the one I first saw at the movies as a child was "Song of the South" great music - not sure if it was a Disney but I think so. My son's first one at the theater was Bambi
Good Movie!Disney will never release it due to it not being "PC"
You can get oversea's versions or bootleg ones.
At the theater it was probably Mary Poppins or Flipper.
At home the ones I remember most are Tomisina (what a cry fest)
and Old Yeller which literally almost killed me.
