the pale, stone-faced, silent men wearing trench coats appeared, I kind of knew the *** was up
Plot premise was interesting, but it got too complicated for it's own good. When the elements mentioned in the above post got introduced, it lost most of its intrigue.
Went with my daughter to see it today and thought the movie was pretty good, especially the special effects and the ending you could look at from 2 different view points IMO.
we went to see it the other day. we thought it was ok. I loved the premise! I was disappointed in the turn that it took. I just wanted it to be that the person really possessed some powers, not the issues that needed the special effects! (didn't really say, because I don't want to spoil it)
I felt cheated by this movie. I went expecting to see what they were selling in the previews, but ended up feeling as if I'd stumbled into a bunch of religious proselytizers trying to convert me instead. It really reminded me of "Signs" in that way.
This was a good movie up to the point of the burning window. If you've seen it, you'll know what I mean. At that point it devolved into a ploddingly boring and predictable religious stroke. It would have been fine if they'd stuck with the action/thriller aspect shown in the previews, but with the saccharin turn to religion, it just fell apart.
I saw this movie over last weekend, and all I was thinking the whole time was: "How is Nicolas Cage still allowed to work?"
Walkout worthy for me, but I stuck it out anyway.
