If you like this, check out Le Samourai, a direct influence on Ghost Dog.

John Woo's crime thriller The Killer is also supposed to have been influenced by Le Samourai.

Default State of Grace

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned but: I really like State of Grace -- about Irish mobsters in NY starring Sean Penn, Gary Oldman, and Ed Harris.

EDIT: Oops - I see ExPit beat me to it...

Are we ONLY defining "Mob" movies as Italian mafia movies? If not, I'll add some different ones to the list:

Godfather 1 and 2
Goodfellas
Casino
Scarface
Untouchables
King Of New York
American Gangster
Scarface - The Al Capone movie where Ben Gazzara played Al Capone

As far as I know there are some different 'Dillinger' movies (remakes?). What movie do you mean?

Did this guy thrust a pen in a guy's neck like Pesci did? lol

What do you mean? There were only two Scarface movies: a) Scarface, 1932 (with Paul Muni) directed by Howard Hawks and b) Scarface, 1983 with Al Pacino
Is there a third Scarface I've missed?

Another great mob movie I'd like to mention is 'The Cotton Club', 1984 directed by F.F. Coppola. Anybody seen it?
A very beautiful and well-done movie about notorious NY gangster Dutch Schultz. James Remar who played the Dutch was super awesome (mad, furious and persuasive). James Remar by far played one of the best mob characters in a cinema history along with Tony Montana and Michael Corleone. One of the best episodes was when James Remar stuck a fork into his enemy's neck during the dinner.

The one written by John Milius, starring Warren Oates as Dillinger.

Had to look it up on IMDB.

Was a 1975 movie called "Capone" with Ben Gazzara in the lead and Sylvester Stallone played Frank Netti.
