I saw "The Divine secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood" last night on DVD and I must admit I was bored silly. I simply did not "get it". Some excellent acting from Ellen Burstyn , some appalling one from Maggie Smith ( who on earth cast her as a Southern Belle , her accent was atrocious) but the plot left me cold as ice...

Basically woman behaves like a total cow all her life and hurts her nearest and dearest who still treat her as a Queen and throw her a party at the end ! "Que"?!!?!? There was obviosuly some warm and saccharin feel good message I was supposed to get but it eluded me. Hubby spend the whole time rolling his eyes out and I'm afraid I agreed with him.

Maybe someone can explain to me the appeal of this film !?
