American Made
Great movie, Tom Cruise definitely knows how to pick them. Good action, and very interesting story.
9/10

Baby Driver
Cool soundtrack, and some great actors. If you have time to waste, give it a watch.
4/10

Bladerunner 2049
I was so excited to see this. Just stunning visuals and score, good story although I will have to watch it a few more times. I did seem to get lost at a few points and had to Google to understand some things.
8.5/10

Star Wars:The last Jedi
Entertaining
7/10

I watched Last Jedi again, this time in IMAX (well, actually the smaller "LieMAX", but it is still a larger-than-average screen) to see more picture in the shot-for-IMAX scenes.

The movie was letterboxed for the entire runtime; not once did it fill the entire 1.89:1 screen. Turns out that there are no IMAX scenes, or at least none that are specially formatted for IMAX, even though I've read that IMAX cameras were used for certain scenes.

We watched “The Taking of Pelham 123” recently, the remake with John Travolta and Denzel Washington.
In the past, for no particular reason, I was never over keen on Travolta, but IMO he acted out of his skin in this movie.
DW can do no wrong in my eyes, he could read out the Brooklyn phone directory on stage and I’d buy tickets.

Quite a few people have lauded “This is England”, this was a very uncomfortable movie to watch for a native Brit, albeit one with a strong French bloodline, but superbly acted, again, IMO.
The male lead, Combo, was played by Stephen Graham, he is a very under rated actor, he really gets into a rôle, reminiscent of a young Brando in “On the Waterfront.”
Try and catch him in “Texas Killing Fields”, he does a mean Texas accent.
