Weather Wars (2011) - SyFy Channel

Description: A series of freak weather occurrences around Washington D.C. reunites two estranged brothers who are the sons of a once prestigious climate scientist. One of them suspects their father is behind it and upon further investigation, they discover that all of their father's enemies are dead - victims of freak weather accidents. Soon their suspicions are confirmed as their father hijacks radio and TV transmissions to relay the message that unless a certain Senator whom canceled his Defense Department contracts is handed over, the city of Washington D.C will suffer the consequences. As the brothers race to form a plan that can defeat their father, he lets loose a variety of diabolical weather weapons on the Smithsonian, Jefferson and Lincoln Memorials, and National Mall!

I'm a sucker for natural disaster and end of the world flicks!!!

Béla Tarr's The Turin Horse. A deeply haunting philosophical parable. It's 2 hours and a half long of a (very) slow moving minimal(istic) story where an old man, his daughter and their horse go about their bare-boned daily lives in a small house in the middle of nowhere.

I realise how it sounds lol. But, despite it feeling insufferable at times (consider yourself warned), as it should, I thought it was fascinating.

I saw The Woodsman -- Kevin Bacon plays a paedophile trying to cope with life after being released from prison. A little too creepy for my taste...

DAMN GOOD for a war movie. One of the best ever. Did you see the version with English dubs or the one with subtitles (or perhaps neither if you speak German...)?

Actually, that never happened in Das Boot, because the film predates sonar-homing torpedoes, which would have been required to attack a submarine from another submarine, barring the deck gun, in which case a swift crash dive would promptly end a sub vs. sub attack.
