Avengers. My kids took me for Mother's Day because I wanted to see this - I like good action movies.

We completely enjoyed it - perfect casting.

Just watched "Castle In The Sky". I was very, very impressed, and this was only the second Studio Ghibli film I've seen. I'm definitely a fan now!

"Monsieur Lazhar" an absolute gem of a film.

Monsieur Lazhar Trailer - YouTube

The acting is absolutely wonderful ( including some fabulous performances by the kids), superb writing, it is all at once sad and funny, poignant and uplifting and a fabulously well observed look at grief and loss. It has substance and true heart and is also a great observation of some of the ridiculous changes in our modern educational system and how sometimes a little human touch and common sense achieves far more than a lot of PC crap and restrictive rules often rejecting the human element of teacher/pupil relationship. Beautifully observed, superbly acted and a joy from beginning til end.

El Premio

An Argentinian film about a little girl and her mother living in hiding during Argentina's military repression. It's very slow moving, but an interesting study on the life of a young girl under fascism.

I saw "Legs Diamond" last night on TCM. It stands up pretty well for a 1960 picture, fresh and entertaining.

Time Traveler had a funny twist at the end.
