Yes, that's the movie, very funny, but IMHO, also sadly representative of how the minds of way too many people operate when an idea is planted.

Strangely, I must be the only person who hated 'The Office', both UK & US versions. Tried to watch each several times... can't make it through 15-min of fast forwarding. Not sure why because I love all his other work, although I know he grates on some, as does Russell Brand. Both are either adored or despised on both continents. For me, I've seen Brand in interviews & like his quirky, childlike persona. Standups... I'll get a few chuckles during 1-hr of material, but it's not enough to get me to look out for new work. I hear he's a decent actor, but a remake of 'Arthur' won't send me running to the theatre. First one was cute when I was a kid, but that kind of comedy isn't normally my cup of espresso.

Guess we part here, I saw the UK version of the Office before the US and very much enjoyed them both. As a matter of fact, yesterday was the first time, I watch the office in a long time, the matterial hadn't been up to par in a while, but I thouroughly enjoyed last nights episode, sort of reminded me of how it was in it's hay days. I've enjoy some of Russell Brand's stuff, I love/hate him at times, most enjoyed him in that movie he was in with Jonah Hill and B or P C Pappy Diddy. Sorry, I'm terrible with remember names of movies, I've seen in the past. Can't seem to forget some I'd like to though.

Hope you enjoy The Invention of Lying. Next up, I'm about to watch a movie titled Shame, with Michael Fassbender, far from being a comedy. Will see how that goes.

Oh, I understand. If you look at disclaimers on the DVD boxes, my pic is displayed with a giant X through it beside a warning that I'm the only person in the western hemisphere who doesn't like the show & to mock & shame me should we cross paths. Some versions black out my 2 front teeth. I may give either version a try again someday... everyone seems to love it. I recall when The Sopranos was hot. I tuned in mid 2nd or 3rd season & couldn't get into it. When I got stuck in a hotel room some time later whilst in a 2-wk training class, it was all that was on TV every night & I was in the middle of nowhere sans car. After an episode or 2, it really grew on me quickly. It's one of the few DVD collections I own & have seen at least 1/2-dozen times from start to finish.

Love/hate is how I feel about Russell, too. I still always give his material a chance. And, ya lost me on the last one, hahaha. I'm out of the loop, I guess... don't even know Jonah Hill. Not even going to attempt the B/PC P D... I'm going to type that into a search engine & feel it will come up with some super secret illuminati or Bible codes, now deciphered by TRosa... if that is indeed your real name.

Please report back on that one. I saw a long Canadian interview with Fassbender & McQueen some time ago, which was fascinating & really piqued my interest in the movie.

Finally watched Inglorious Basterds. Loved it! That Michael Fassbender is pretty easy on the eyes.

The Invention of Lying is one of my favorite movies. Ghost Town was also very good. Love Ricky Gervais!

Not everyone will always enjoy the same material all the time. I know some fantastic people that never like Seinfeld, nor Mash and I still called them friends. They road a short yellow bus, but I'm not complaining.

OK, I looked up the title, It's "Get Him to The Greek", Can't say you'll enjoy it, but it had me roaring on more than one occasion.

Watched Shame this morning, the man has gifts, nothing to do with his acting. The movie was interesting, not as emotionally compelling as I was expecting, I'm beginning to think Fassbender is a bit one dimensional, Seems he plays the same kind of void-less soul in everything I've seen, but I'd gladly watch him walk around in his bare skin devoid of much else any day. Durammmm. Was curious about this particular character, briefly dated one of such kind once a decade ago. I felt like the movie left so much out, though it's possible I may have missed something crucial when I left the room for a sec. Oh well, too late, I returned it to the library already. Don't have any underage people in the room when you watch it, darn near porn scenes in there. I say see it to if for no other reason, to oogle Fassbender. Yes, I can be shallow sometimes. But then I put in my time assisting old people (even older than myself that is,) through intersections.

Well I had my sheep moment last night in terms of buying Hollywood schlock. I'm so embarrased for myself.
With zero zip to watch I paid TWC 4.99 On Demand to watch Wanderlust.
Just because I have a little bit of a thing for Paul Rudd (check out some of his early dramatic roles on Netflix, not saying he's great but for some reason I find him interesting).
Anyway...how many times have they gone to this well? Heck they just did it in the last year with Couples(? 4 couples go to an island) and at least one of the actors, that blond swedish chick, are the same.
I imagine this movie cost a fortune just for Jennifer. Why that comedy crew has decided that she should now be part of their ensemble i don't know. Yea sure her comedic timing is ok, and that is all she brings to the table other than her name.
I can't believe these guys made this movie. So the same-o same-o.
Production value were good and they skewered a few new trends out there for comedic effect but that was about it.

Oops. I'm feeling a C-D banning or tarring & feathering coming on... I didn't care for most of Seinfeld & absolutely loathe Mash. Sorry, TR. Oddly, I love Curb your Enthusiasm & coincidentally, ordered seasons 1-8 on DVD this weekend.

I realize the humor is similar... just could never warm up to the Seinfeld crew... lived in London, Boston, L.A. & a 1/2-dozen other large metros for too many years & found those volitile, narcissistic George personalities to be far too common in the workplace.

Thank you for the title, I'm sure I'll quite like it. Russell is normally worth at least 1 snort, 2 chuckles & a gaffaw, if we're lucky.

Hahaha. I'm surprised to hear Shame wasn't emotionally compelling, because from the outtakes & interviews I've seen, it seems very much so. Then again, that's what Hollywood's supposed to do, reel us in, take our $10. I've found that sometimes happens with a movie everyone hypes... the buildup is so sensational, the movie can't live up to it & I've walked out of more than a few supposed blockbusters with a shrug, feeling it was okay at best & that I enjoyed the buttery popcorn more.

I'm still going to try Shame, at least for the esthetic value.
