Saw this with the GF last night. Not like inception at all. Looper was great. The story arcs and connections kept the audience thinking and interested. All the actors were great. I felt a small "Blade-Runner" influence in the city-scape. Also noticed the Loopers weapons were modeled after much older weapons with high-yield but little long range accuracy. It was chilling to see American cities overrun with poverty and the GF pointed out there was a division between the wealthy, corrupt thugs and then the poverty-stricken populace.
Loved that flying crop-duster too!
It had an interesting blend of futurism (the ubiquitous flying/hovering personal vehicles) and retro (the blunderbusses), didn't it?
It's always nice to see time-travel used intelligently and contemplatively in film.
LA Confidential---still an absolute masterpiece 15 years later, and whose loss to 'Titanic' for Best Picture at the 1998 Oscar ceremony remains among the very biggest Oscar swindles EVER!!!!
The Tall Man... Any time a movie takes me on a ride where I don't see the twist and turns and keeps me interested with a pitt in my stomach, it's alright by me. Very interesting ending as well food for thought.
The Game---- with Michael Douglas.
Now normally, I can't stand Douglas.
This movie was the exception!
Great movie, and great acting job by Douglas.
