They should have focused more on Francis Gary Powers and his situation vs having so much about the Soviet spy. The SOviet spy should have just been portrayed as a simple villain. We hardly saw much of Powers including his capture and how he was treated by the Soviet enemy.
They also didn't portray communism and socialism as evil as it actually was during the Cold War. Hollywood and our liberal education system never go into communist crimes against humanity the way we learn about the Nazis and the Japanese in WW2. I guess that's not surprising we have these government officials, Common Core planners, and liberal teachers who support socialism themselves. Look at how many teachers unions have endorsed Sanders.
