Default Drag Me To Hell

I saw it yesterday. Now, normally I love this type of movie - reminiscent of the Evil Deads that is, but I can't say I enjoyed this one at all. Despite the good reviews it's receiving, for me, it totally lacked the "Bruce Campbell" horror-comedy appeal which makes this genre work. Oh, there were many over the top gross moments, but they just weren't funny!

I usually love this type of movie, especially older horror flicks, because they're so unintentionally funny - in my twisted opinion anyway lol. I won't be seeing Drag Me To Hell (love the title, by the way) any time soon, though. Nothing against it; I just haven't been to a theater in years. I may check it out when I'm able to rent it.

Was this movie meant to be a scary/funny type movie (like a Bruce Campbell movie) or was it a serious scary movie (like exorcist or Omen)? It doesnt strike me as being of the funny/scary type with to me are ridiculous movies. Scary/scary (like the Omen) is the only way to go for true horror.

Saw it last weekend and I think it was supposed to be scary/funny-the CGI was so extreme and over-the-top and...ridiculous. Definately not scary/scary IMO.

It was a forgettable film-mediocre at best.

I totally loved this film. One of the best I've seen so far. We all just different tastes.

One of my co-workers loved it too. True - different tastes. I wanted to love it. I think was the lead actress that bugged me - I wanted her to die a miserable death .

The title alone makes me laugh. I'll see it but I'll wait until it is on cable.

I agree, really cool and loved the ending!

It's different from the recent horror movies being released.

I've probably watched this movie over and over again, more than any other movie over the last 5 years...do to the fact it was the only one I had for a while...it and 'I am legend'...

The more I watch this movie...the more it intrigues me...

And after a while I find myself asking 'Did that lady really deserve to get dragged into hll'?

It was all because she refused to extend the loan to that one gypsy elderly lady...
But even that wasn't it...

What really did it was when that gypsy lady got on her knees, and said...'please, I beg on my mothers grave..ect ect'

And the loan officer panicked and called security...and the old lady fell on her face infront of everyone in the bank....in other words 'humiliation'...

Or...'You shamed me...I begged on my mothers grave and you shamed me'....

I think that's what did it...had the loan officer not 'shamed' the gypsy lady...the out come would of probably been different...

But still...did that lady really deserve to be dragged into the abyss for that?, considering there are people who do far worse things...

Also, while watching movie...at times i couldn't tell, or can't tell, if it's the 'Lomnia' goat demon or the gypsy lady that's haunting or taunting the loan officer...

It's like both the gypsy lady (who's deceased) and the Lamnia, are working together to taunt the loan officer...or the lomnia could just be useing images of the old lady for 'effect'....

And I also noticed the lady never once prayed to the traditional Judio/christian god for help, but instead turned to a medium guide...or guides...

As far as it being a comedy or not...I don't know...
I do know that loan officer swallowed at least a bucket load of that dead gypsy ladies vomit...

And even when dead, the gypsy lady kept pulling out the loan officers hair...

I kinda wish they'd come out with a part II....

It just has such a maninee effect to it...I like it...
