Default SHOULD have been Best Picture

Okay, I thought I would try a spin-off from the worst Best Pictures one. What do you think SHOULD have won Best Picture. Or, what do you think should have been nominated and wasn't.

I will start with this:

Cinderella Man

Twenty years from now, we will look back and say "Crash? Really? Why didn't Cinderella Man even get nominated??? Oh yeah, Crowe threw a phone at somebody. Sheesh."

Great topic.

Absolutely agree with you about Crash. Not a Best Picture.

79th Academy Awards Best Picture:
Departed (won)
Babel
The Queen
Little Miss Sunshine
Letters from Iwo Jima

Children of Men AND Pan’s Labyrinth should have both been nominated, IMHO.

Ditto on Crash. It was a good movie but not good enough for best picture. IMO "The Queen" should have gotten the Oscar from the list above instead of Departed.

The Color Purple should have won over Out of Africa. I'm still upset about that.

I'm dating myself here but anything that was nominated against Chariots of Fire should have won.

I would have taken The Dark Knight over about anything nominated last year. I don't recall what won.
