Default I am sooo excited about the New G.I. Joe movie!

The movie is coming out Aug. 7th! How many remember it when you were kids?

I don't remember much about the show but I did have the action figures. I saw that preview and it looks disappointing. Too heavy on the CGI.

Indeed! I used to watch the TV show as a kid, and loved it. From the looks of the movie preview, they sacrificed everything that was good about the show to make it a pg-13 mess.

They should have done a few things to make this a good movie:

1. They should have stuck to the script of the cartoon movie GI Joe.
2. They should have had Nemesis Enforcer in the movie. Most awesome character in all of GI Joe.
3. Should have killings in the movie. How can you have an elite military outfit and no kills?
4. Should have gotten the director of 300 to do it and had characters exactly like in the cartoon.

I loved G.I. Joe as a kid, getting up early to watch the Cartoon.
Earning money so i can buy the figures.
The movie doesnt look like it has anything to do with JOE.
And I heard they made it very PC.
Naw..I think i ll pass.

Yeah, in the cartoons, it was love of freedom and the American way that spurred the heros on to victory. The movie looks like its high tech gear, not patriotism, that wins the day. Sad.

The trailer for this looked awful. There was a scene where they shoot spiraling missiles at the bad guys who manage to dodge the missiles and of course the missiles hurl down into civilian buildings. Way to go on saving those people.... I don’t want my films to come with a large dose of realism but that was just plain sloppy. The rest of the film looks just as bad.

I'll probably see it, 'cause I love watching Christopher Eccleston, but, I'm not too encouraged by what I've seen of the trailers.
