I sort of want to see this movie. Trailers can be deceptive though.

The site "Rotten Tomatos" which is my go to movie critic, gave it a very high ratings, 96 I beleive. Very rare. I promised to take my 13 yr old son and his pals. Looking forward to it.

i've somehow missed all the major viral marketing, though I noticed the ads on the bus and even some bus stops. has still trying to decide whether I should go see it or not (I fell for the Cloverfield ploy. liked the movie, but not as much as I thought I would), but the reviews I've been reading for it are very good so I may go for it.

My fingers are crossed on this.
I like the sci-fi that does not rely 100% on CGI.
CGI+Plot can be a very powerful 1-2.

Just saw it at a 1pm showing, theater was packed. It is NOT Alien Nation, trust me. A very good look at humanity. I liked it, and recommend it.

I actually didn't like the film based on the trailer but will now watch it because of all the positive things I've heard.

Ok - I just got back from seeing it! It was so so - certainly didn't live up to the hype. I wanted to love it - but it just fell short for me on many levels. I do feel plenty of people will think it's crazy good - I'm just not one of them.

It was outstanding. Best Science Fiction film in at least the last 10 years.

I really want to see this film now. About 50 of my Facebook friends saw it and are all raving about what a great movie it is. Just like what Jim9251 said above, they say its a great look at humanity.
One person said that it was a horrifying and terrible commentary on apartheid.

Ok, I just saw the movie. I agree that it's definitely not another Alien Nation. It gives a realistic picture of how first contact would be with aliens. I thought it was a very good movie.
